Advanced

Two new Tango Figures

  1. Basic Reverse Turn (Gold; Leader only crosses)                   QQ& QQS

Technique

  1. Progressive Link for follower: Quickity-Quick

RF Back, turn feet, R heel down as L heel releases, R heel up as LF steps to side

  1. Stay down, especially when turning to PP and when closing the feet.

Rumba

Three Threes (4 Bars)

Beginner (See video of new figures!)

Waltz Amalgamation (Prep step on count 3)

  1. Natural Turn
  2. RF Closed Change
  3. Reverse Turn
  4. Whisk*
  5. Chasse from PP*

Recommence with Natural Turn, but outside partner.
*No turn for leader, ¼ turn to right for follower on Whisk and Chasse.

Quickstep: Review Tipple Chasse to Right. Be able to dance it four times consecutively.

Tango Group 1 (to be alternated with original tango group, now referred to as “Group 2”)

Four Requirements for Stability

  1. All steps start and end with the weight between the feet, not on a foot. (There will be exceptions.)
  2. Keep center of gravity low.
  3. Use correct/advantageous foot positions. (See book if in doubt!)
  4. Keep back straight/vertical.

Jive: Bronze routine

Technique

  1. Use the bounce action on flicks for the quickest possible action.
  2. Stay close to your partner and keep connections low and stable.
  3. Open out the hips on back rocks, especially before an American Spin
  4. Double spot the American Spin

Cha Cha: Bronze routine

  1. “Stab” the foot into the floor on every step.
  2. The connected hands should be as stable as if having the hands on a ballet barre.
  3. Keep the head and neck isolated from the actions.
