The Technique of Sway and Rise

  1. Tango has more rise than VW, therefore Quickstep figures counted SQQ or QQS should stay level also.
  2. Don’t make room for your legs. Stay low and free in the legs.
  3. Follower’s head turns to the right on the Running Finish, V6 and Quick Open Reverse, but only if the earns it by producing enough sway in the base.
  4. Foxtrot is the only dance with sway on every figure.
  5. Create a hierarchy of rise: Waltz has the most, VW least. Foxtrot and three-step figures of Quickstep are similar.
  6. It is posture and frame which determine the finalists. Strong/supported, but flexible at all times.
