Frank Regan

The best of everything is good.

Frank always said, “The best of everything is good.” He would know. He was the best at so many things.  I will always have his many stories, songs and teachings, and particularly, his great warmth as a human being, artist and unwavering friend.  Thank you, Vicki, for being there for him! Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and the rest of his family and friends.

The United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing is proud to honor one of our longest, most celebrated and creative members, Frank Regan.

Frank is a fellow in all five branches and an examiner in the American Smooth, America Rhythm and Theater Arts Branches, as well as the motivating force behind the creation of the Theater Arts Branch.

As a member of the East Coast Branch Committee, Frank helped create and operate the Imperial Championships, the Eastern United States Championships and the North American Championships. These were among the first International Style competitions in the United States. He has also organized congresses and continues to produce training materials for the USISTD.

As one of the earliest promoters of International Style dancing in the United States, Frank Regan brought world renown dancers, coaches and trainers to the United States. He also hosted examinations given by the legendary examiners of the ISTD London.

Frank Regan exemplifies the highest ideals of our Society as both a dancer and an educator. He won multiple National Championships in the United States and Canada, organized the 1973 World Professional Championships and has trained many top dancers and teachers in a variety of styles from his vast knowledge of dance and music.

  2. My sympathies go out to you as well, As I sit here crying over a loss that few with the exception of those who have had the opportunity to dance with Frank to feel. I danced with Frank from the time I was 14 years old, up through and til Frank moved to St. Hubert. I loved him as only a teenager can love. To no fruition but with a love that was always there in the background throughout all of my life.

There is no way to say what the world is missing. He was more than special. In my thoughts, he was perfection.

    Love Always,
    Norma (Skinner) Rebstock
