Quickstep – At corners:

Cha Cha: After Solo Spot Turn, add Three Cha Cha Chas Backward and Forward

Double Reverse Spin Technique

  1. Leader: Forward, Side (backing DW), Ronde-Brush (pivoting on toe, then lowering right heel only)
  2. Follower: Long step back, slow close with front heel on floor (heel turn), long step to side down LOD, left foot crosses in front, backing DW
  3. Follower: Use head weight to initiate turn.

Quickstep

  2. Heel Pivot                               SQQ
  3. Double Reverse Spin              SSQQ
  4. Progressive Chasse to Right   SQQS
  5. Back Lock                               SQQS

Four categories of choreography

  1. Forward, turning right
  2. Forward, turning left
  3. Backward, turning right (the category in which the smallest step is taken).

Samba Technique

  1. Never leave a flat foot. Always rise to the ball of the foot before taking the next step.
  2. Never get caught with two heels on the floor.
  3. Bounce Timing: 1&2& 1&2&
  4. Step Timing: 1a2 1a2
  5. Combined Timing: 1&a2& 1&a2&

Rumba/Cha Cha Exercise: Practice with a person on your back or with weights to get the grounded feeling
